Description:
The Senior Security Monitoring & Threat Hunting Specialist serves as a key leader in the organization''s cyber defense capability, driving advanced detection, proactive threat hunting, and strategic improvements to security monitoring operations. This role focuses on complex investigations, high-priority threat hunts, and mentoring less experienced analysts, ensuring early identification and mitigation of sophisticated adversary activity while continuously enhancing the enterprise''s security posture.
Responsibilities
· Lead monitoring, triage, enrichment, and investigation of cyber alerts from SIEM, EDR/XDR, identity, cloud, network, email, and other security platforms, with emphasis on acquired entities.
· Correlate and interpret activity across diverse telemetry sources to assess severity, scope, business impact, and risk, providing actionable recommendations to executive and technical stakeholders.
· Design and execute advanced hypothesis-driven threat hunts informed by threat intelligence, adversary tradecraft. emerging attack trends, anomalies, and known detection gaps.
· Develop and refine detection strategies, analytical playbooks, and hunting frameworks to strengthen enterprise defenses and reduce false positives.
· Produce high-quality documentation of investigative methodology, hunt findings, timelines, evidentiary artifacts and conclusions, ensuring clear communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Escalate confirmed or suspected threats to incident response teams with detailed analysis, confidence levels, and prioritized remediation steps.
· Partner with engineering, architecture, and threat intelligence teams to identify opportunities for improved logging. detection coverage, enrichment, and operational workflows.
