Semiconductor Equipment Support Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a Semiconductor Equipment Support Technician to support semiconductor fabrication operations in a dynamic production and R&D environment. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing a variety of front-end and back-end semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with semiconductor equipment maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience working within cleanroom environments.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and basic software/control system issues.

Support equipment including steppers, evaporators, sputtering systems, implanters, etchers, coaters/developers, and dicing saws.

Collaborate with process engineers, researchers, and equipment owners to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.

Document maintenance activities, downtime events, and parts usage.

Support equipment installations, upgrades, decommissioning activities, and vendor coordination.

Maintain inventory of critical spare parts, consumables, and safety-related components.

Ensure compliance with cleanroom, calibration, safety, and operational standards.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment uptime and reliability.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment maintenance, manufacturing support, field service, or a related technical trade.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.

Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.

Familiarity with vacuum systems, gas delivery systems, and cleanroom operations.

Ability to work independently in a research-driven or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate Degree or technical training in Mechatronics, Electronics, Semiconductor Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field.

Experience supporting semiconductor fabrication equipment.

Experience with wet and dry process tools.

Exposure to low-volume, high-mix R&D or prototype manufacturing environments.

Understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and manufacturing workflows.

Familiarity with safety protocols involving specialty gases, chemicals, and high-voltage equipment.
