Summary

Job Title: Senior Email Systems Administrator

Location-Remote

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Email Systems Administrator to manage and support enterprise email platforms. The role involves ensuring high availability, security, and performance of email systems such as Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365, along with handling migrations, troubleshooting, and compliance requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain enterprise email platforms (Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, or similar).

  • Manage mail flow, routing, and email security configurations.

  • Perform email system upgrades, migrations (on-prem to cloud), and deployments.

  • Configure and manage mailboxes, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, and policies.

  • Implement and manage email security solutions (spam filtering, anti-phishing, DLP).

  • Monitor system performance, availability, and troubleshoot issues.

  • Manage backup, archiving, and disaster recovery for email systems.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory policies.

  • Integrate email systems with other enterprise applications and identity platforms.

  • Provide L3 support and mentor junior administrators.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Exchange (on-prem) and/or Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online).

  • Knowledge of email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3).

  • Experience with email security tools (Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Proofpoint, Mimecast, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Active Directory and identity management.

  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.

  • Understanding of DNS, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configurations.

  • Experience in troubleshooting mail flow and delivery issues.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator).

  • Experience with hybrid Exchange environments.

  • Knowledge of compliance, eDiscovery, and retention policies.

  • Exposure to cloud security and identity governance.

  • Experience with large-scale enterprise environments.


Experience:

  • 6–10 years of experience in email systems administration
