About the Role

We are seeking a Data Analyst / Data Scientist to support portfolio operations at a leading investment and management firm. This role focuses on leveraging data and analytics to drive strategic decisions, optimize business performance, and identify growth opportunities across portfolio companies. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that inform business strategies.

  • Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations to track key performance metrics and operational outcomes.

  • Develop predictive and statistical models to support decision-making, forecasting, and opportunity identification.

  • Collaborate with leadership to define analytics roadmaps aligned with business goals.

  • Prepare and present data-driven insights to executives and stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner.

  • Write and optimize SQL queries for extracting, transforming, and analyzing data from multiple sources.

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to address immediate business questions and support timely decisions.

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems, and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Requirements

  • 4 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, predictive modeling, or applied statistics in a corporate or consulting environment.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience developing end-to-end data pipelines.

  • Advanced programming skills in Python or R.

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders and create executive presentations.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and quantitative problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to independently manage analytics projects, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Nice to have: experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), machine learning techniques, or AI applications such as NLP or deep learning.

Location

Northeast U.S., onsite/hybrid flexibility.
