Role: Network Architect
Hybrid Position(3 days onsite)
Hershey, Pennsylvania
Long Term Contract
Responsibilities:
Design and oversight of enterprise LAN/WAN environments (core, distribution, access layers)
Experience with SD-WAN, segmentation, and zero trust network principles
Deep understanding of routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and load balancing
Wireless architecture (high-density, clinical environments preferred)
Data center networking (spine/leaf, hybrid cloud connectivity)
Voice / Unified Communications
Architecture and support of enterprise voice platforms (e.g., VoIP, SIP, call routing)
Experience with Avaya (80%) and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (20%), Microsoft Teams
Call center technologies NICE, Operator console, and workflows
Integration with paging systems, on-call scheduling, and emergency/code call processes
SIP trunking, carrier management, and call flow design
Architecture Responsibilities
Ensure seamless integration between voice, network, clinical applications (e.g., EMR), and alerting platforms (e.g., Everbridge, Responder)
Design for interoperability across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments
Operational & Risk Considerations
Design for high availability, redundancy, and failover (especially for patient-critical systems)
Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning
Partner with cybersecurity teams to align with frameworks such as NIST and HIPAA
Evaluate and mitigate technical risk in proposed solutions
Vendor & Technology Management
Evaluate vendors, platforms, and architectural options
Provide technical oversight during vendor selection and implementation
Review and validate vendor designs and statements of work
Collaboration & Leadership
Work closely with infrastructure, applications, and clinical teams
Provide guidance to engineers and technical leads
Support project teams to ensure architectural integrity through delivery
Deliverables
Current-state and future-state architecture diagrams
Detailed solution designs and technical specifications
Standards and reference architectures for network and voice domains
Risk assessments and mitigation plans
Input into roadmaps and strategic planning
Preferred Background
Experience in healthcare or similarly complex, high-availability environments
Familiarity with clinical workflows and patient safety considerations
Experience supporting large, multi-site organizations
Certifications (Preferred)
Network/architecture certifications (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, cloud networking certs)
TOGAF or equivalent architecture framework experience
ITIL or service management familiarity
