Position: SRE Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC Onsite from Day 1

Primary Focus: SRE / Production Engineering / Java-Spring Boot / AWS
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SRE Engineer with exceptional hands-on production support experience for Java/Spring Boot applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, incident prevention, and distributed applications, along with familiarity with AI tools such as Claude/Claude Code.
The engineer will be responsible for developing software and automation solutions for operational activities such as automated certificate renewals, endpoint updates, health dashboards, auto-healing, monitoring, and incident prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on production support for Java/Spring Boot applications.
- Participate in on-call rotations and proactively prevent incidents.
- Establish and maintain effective SRE practices and runbooks.
- Administer production Apigee, services, APIs, and jobs.
- Debug application and service-level issues.
- Perform software rollbacks when releases encounter issues.
- Block, limit, or control unwanted traffic to APIs.
- Build monitoring systems that identify symptoms before they become outages.
- Use monitoring and alerting systems to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Perform RCA and postmortems following incidents and outages.
- Develop automation for certificate renewals, endpoint updates, health checks, and auto-healing.
- Build and maintain infrastructure using GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
- Measure and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Provide operational engineering support for large distributed applications.
- Participate in system design, platform management, and capacity planning.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of SRE / Production Engineering / DevOps experience
- Strong hands-on experience supporting Java/Spring/Spring Boot applications
- Strong AWS experience
- Experience with GitLab or Jenkins CI/CD
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with Helm charts
- Strong production troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Experience with APIs and Apigee
- Incident management, RCA, and postmortem experience
- Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code
- Ability to code in one or more:
- Java
- Python
- JavaScript
- Shell scripting
- YAML
- Strong proactive approach to identifying performance bottlenecks and operational improvements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

AI Requirement
