- Document existing Power BI deployment
- Workspaces/Teams/End Users
- Usage metrics
- Dependencies on Gateway Servers
- Power BI Version
- Devise plan to upgrade Power BI to latest version, and steps for future upgrades to stay up to date with the monthly updates.
- Devise plan to migrate 2 Gateway servers to new servers and new data center, potentially keeping legacy server names with minimal impact to production environment.
- Document server details, plan, and timelines
- Create test plan and validation for server migrations
- Migrate and upgrade prod server
- Provide support and adjustments as needed
