Infra Solutions Architect
Job Purpose:
What does an excellent Infra Solutions Architect do?
A Infra Solutions Architect is responsible for the design of the underlying infrastructure technology for our organization ensuring the security, scalability, and performance of the solutions you provide. You will collaborate with various business units to understand and evaluate their requirements and work closely with various platform teams and product groups to develop technical designs for high priority and complex projects, both on premises and in cloud environments, while advocating alignment with enterprise standards. A thorough understanding of operating system platforms, cloud technologies, networking, and security is a must.
Alongside your technical role, SA is the relationship manager for architectural engagements with business units’ technology teams. You will hold and participate in planning sessions, requirements/information gathering discussions, design proposals, and, potentially, troubleshooting sessions related to the implementation of your design. You can expect to advocate technical architecture and build consensus for the adoption of new technologies across multiple functional teams.
As part of the relationship with the business unit technology teams, you will act as a liaison between any new technologies the business unit may be investigating and the platform teams that own that type of technology. Conversely, you will advise and advocate the use of newly adopted technologies to replace legacy technologies in use by business organizations.
As SA, you are a key part of the overall Technology Design process, often engaging early with a business unit once a technology design need has been identified and continuing to partner with business technology groups through requirements gathering, resource identification, design creation, as well as providing guidance and support for complex implementations. You will partner with Development, Product, Engineering, Security, and Architecture teams to provide high quality, robust infrastructure designs for enterprise applications accessed by millions of users a day.

Basic qualifications for consideration:
- High School Diploma and 10+ years of relevant work experience
- 6+ years of experience designing and building enterprise class distributed systems.
- 6+ years' experience in the financial services industry or other highly regulated industries.
- 6+ years of indirect or direct technical leadership.
- Expert level skill in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Expert in collaboration with co-workers and subject matter experts that may be in remote locations.
- Highly organized and able to work multiple efforts simultaneously.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the use and creation of slide presentations and drawings.
- High level of public speaking skills, presenting designs to groups of peers and business unit leadership and C-level leadership.
- Experience interacting with customers a to analyze, validate, specify, verify, document and lead solution requirements.
- Experience with private and public cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud), and Automation/Continuous Integration (Salt, Fabric, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, etc.)
- Deep understanding of networking technologies: TCP/IP, DNS, LAN, WAN, routing, firewalls, VPN
- Previous Infrastructure/System Engineering experience in heterogeneous environments.
- Expert level technical skill in at least one of these: Windows, Linux, Storage, Networking and/or Security.
- Recent experience leading the technical design of high transaction volume distributed systems or other complex projects.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Master's degree
- Architect level certifications for Windows, Linux, Storage, Networking, or Security.
- Experience with TOGAF or other architecture frameworks.
