Now Hiring: Product Engineer (Handles, Latches & Mechanisms)

Location: Dearborn, MI

Pay Rate: $42.31/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Onsite 5 Days per Week

Ready to work on complex automotive mechanical systems that impact vehicle performance, safety, and quality? We are seeking a Product Engineer to support the design, development, testing, validation, and release of vehicle closure systems and mechanical components.

Job Duties


  • Lead design and development of mechanical systems including handles, latches, locks, hinges, strikers, and closure mechanisms

  • Manage product releases, engineering changes, CAD models, BOM structures, and design documentation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and program management

  • Perform engineering analysis, GD&T reviews, tolerance studies, and technical design evaluations

  • Support DFMEA, DVP&R, root cause analysis, 8D problem solving, and validation activities

  • Review and approve CAD data through Teamcenter and related PLM systems

  • Support supplier readiness, PPAP activities, production launches, and ongoing quality improvements

  • Travel occasionally to supplier, testing, and manufacturing facilities


Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • 2+ years of engineering experience in automotive, heavy equipment, aerospace, industrial mechanisms, or similar industries

  • Experience with CAD software such as CATIA, 3DX, or Teamcenter

  • Knowledge of GD&T, product development, engineering change management, and validation processes

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
