Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on and adaptable Senior Manager, IT to lead and support the technology and eCommerce needs of a growing organization serving both B2B customers and direct-to-consumer (B2C) markets.
This role is ideal for an experienced IT leader who is comfortable working in a small-company environment where flexibility, ownership, and a willingness to support a broad range of technology needs are essential.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee IT and eCommerce initiatives, and collaborate with internal teams and external technology partners.
While this position is not expected to perform day-to-day software development, the Senior Manager, IT must have sufficient technical knowledge to review code and technical work, evaluate solutions, provide guidance, and ensure that technology initiatives meet business and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the organization s IT operations, technology initiatives, and eCommerce systems.
- Serve as a technical leader for the company s Magento-based eCommerce platform.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to align IT and eCommerce initiatives with organizational goals.
- Review code, technical designs, development work, and system solutions to ensure quality, scalability, security, and alignment with business requirements.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to internal team members, developers, consultants, and external technology vendors.
- Support the ongoing maintenance, enhancement, integration, and optimization of eCommerce systems and related technologies.
- Evaluate technology needs, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and recommend practical solutions.
- Help establish and improve IT processes, standards, documentation, and operational practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technology-related issues across a variety of systems and business functions.
- Manage multiple priorities and contribute wherever needed in a fast-paced, resource-conscious environment.
- Support technology initiatives across both B2B and B2C business operations.
- Act as a trusted technology partner to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in an IT leadership, IT management, eCommerce technology, or related senior-level role.
- Strong hands-on knowledge and experience with Magento.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or managing eCommerce platforms and technology environments.
- Strong understanding of software development practices, application architecture, integrations, and technical quality standards.
- Ability to review and evaluate code and technical deliverables without serving as the primary software developer.
- Experience working closely with developers, technical teams, third-party vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fully remote environment.
- Comfortable working in a small-company setting where responsibilities may extend beyond a narrowly defined role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting both B2B and B2C eCommerce operations.
- Experience with eCommerce integrations, including payment systems, order management, inventory, customer platforms, or third-party applications.
- Experience working with external development partners, technology vendors, or managed service providers.
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, and IT operations.
- Experience building or improving IT processes in a growing or entrepreneurial organization.
