Software Architect III - AWS Cloud & AI

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Software Architect III on behalf of a major telecommunications client headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado (CO). This senior-level role is focused on designing and building secure, scalable cloud-native platforms on AWS while driving innovation across platform engineering, application security, and AI-enabled development practices.

Summary:
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cloud architecture, Infrastructure-as-Code, and modern software engineering principles, along with a passion for leveraging AI and automation to improve developer productivity and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
* Architect and design secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-native applications and platforms on AWS
* Lead the development of enterprise web applications and distributed systems
* Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform
* Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation frameworks
* Partner with engineering, security, and data teams to establish architecture standards and best practices
* Drive cloud modernization initiatives and platform engineering strategies
* Collaborate with data platform leadership to integrate AI and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities into internal workflows and developer tools
* Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend scalable solutions that support business objectives
* Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance across development teams

REQUIREMENTS:
* Extensive experience in software architecture and cloud-native application design
* Strong full-stack development experience with Java, Python, and/or Go
* Deep expertise designing solutions within AWS environments
* Experience building scalable, secure web applications and distributed systems
* Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies
* Strong understanding of application security and secure software development practices
* Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong Go (Golang) development experience, including multi-threaded applications
* Experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS
* Familiarity with Argo CD and GitOps deployment practices
* Experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, or enterprise data platforms
* Exposure to big data technologies such as Spark
* Backend development expertise in Python or Java
* Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog
* Hands-on experience implementing AI, machine learning, or LLM-based solutions

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
