Contract Position

Remote with Occasional Travel

Our healthcare client is seeking two Cloud Application Architects for a remote contract position to support large-scale cloud modernization and migration initiatives across Azure and AWS. These roles focus on designing secure, scalable, and compliant architectures for clinical and third-party healthcare applications.

Responsibilities

Design and guide cloud architectures for Epic, Cerner, and key ancillary systems.
Lead application assessments, migration strategies, and modernization planning.
Support cloud buildout (compute, storage, security, networking, containers, serverless).
Oversee migration execution, pilots, proofs of concept, and testing.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare regulatory standards.
Collaborate with clinical, security, infrastructure, and executive stakeholders.

Required Experience

7-10+ years in cloud or enterprise application architecture.
Hands-on experience supporting/integrating Epic, Cerner, or major EMRs.
Proven Azure and/or AWS migration experience.
Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, HIPAA/HITRUST, and high-availability architectures.
Familiarity with migration tools (Azure Migrate, AWS Migration Hub, CloudEndure, Zerto, etc.).

Preferred Experience

Experience delivering hospital or IDN cloud migrations.
AWS or Azure architect certifications.
Background in healthcare provider environments.
