Job Title: HRIS Business Systems Analyst
Location: Milwaukee, WI (Hybrid/Onsite as required)
Duration: 10-month contract

Job Overview

The HRIS Business Systems Analyst acts as a strategic liaison between IT development teams and business stakeholders, supporting the implementation of new systems and the enhancement of existing solutions. This role focuses on understanding business needs, evaluating technology options, and ensuring system capabilities align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional business teams and IT development groups to elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements.

• Translate business requirements into clear functional system specifications and support technical validation.

• Evaluate new applications and emerging technologies for feasibility, integration needs, and overall technical fit.

• Analyze current systems and processes to identify gaps, recommend enhancements, and propose alternative technology solutions.

• Define detailed system requirements and support solution design, development, testing, and implementation activities.

• Prepare comprehensive documentation, reports, and communication materials related to system changes and enhancements.

• Present solution recommendations, implementation plans, and anticipated business impacts to stakeholders.

• Work under the guidance of a Project Manager to support project planning, scheduling, and coordination efforts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

• 3 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or related IT/business roles.

• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.

• Proven experience translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications.

• Ability to analyze complex business processes and recommend effective technology solutions.

• Proficiency in requirements gathering techniques and documentation (e.g., BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows).

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with enterprise systems, ERP platforms, or SaaS-based applications.

• Familiarity with prototyping or visualization tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Figma, or Balsamiq.

• Exposure to data analysis, reporting tools, or basic SQL querying.

• Experience supporting testing efforts including UAT, QA coordination, test case creation, and defect tracking.

• Relevant certifications (CBAP, CCBA, ECBA, PMI-PBA, Agile/Scrum) are a plus.

• Experience in regulated or compliance-driven industries such as Finance, Healthcare, or the Public Sector is advantageous.
