Database Developer – AWS Aurora PostgreSQL & Oracle

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer with expertise in AWS Aurora PostgreSQL and Oracle databases to design, develop, optimize, and maintain enterprise database solutions. The candidate will be responsible for database development, performance tuning, migration support, and ensuring high availability and scalability of database systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and Oracle Database.
• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
• Support database migration and modernization initiatives.
• Implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with application development teams for database integration and optimization.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity.
• Work on ETL/data integration processes and reporting requirements.
• Automate database deployment and maintenance activities.
• Prepare technical documentation and support production releases.

Required Skills

• 5–8+ years of experience in database development and administration.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and Oracle Database.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Experience with performance tuning, partitioning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Knowledge of database migration tools and replication technologies.
• Familiarity with backup/recovery strategies and high availability configurations.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices for database deployments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• AWS or Oracle database certifications preferred.
• Experience with cloud-native database architectures.
• Exposure to Agile and DevOps methodologies.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Amazon Redshift or Snowflake.
• Knowledge of ETL tools and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and Infrastructure as Code.
