Project Overview
The Office of Technology Services (OTS) was established as a means of recognizing cost savings through
the consolidation of State IT assets and resources. The creation of OTS consolidated a wide variety of
existing hardware platforms, operating systems, database management systems, networks, third-party software, and custom applications.
OTS leads the State’s technology procurement process in order to standardize technology over the entire organization, seek efficiencies of operations, maintenance, and scalability of new products introduced to the OTS suite of services, which can eventually be offered to all in-scope agencies.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze and map data from the old system to the new system
- Develop and implement data conversion plans
- Design and execute data validation and testing processes
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data conversion process
- Collaborate with LDWF stakeholders and OTS technical teams to define and prioritize data conversion requirements
- Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, and documentation to OTS and LDWF agency staff for all requested work
- Participate in team meetings and design sessions by providing feedback and detailed design and
- implementation approaches in accordance with Scrum ceremonies
- Cooperate with LDWF’s Technical Architect and other OTS technical teams to ensure compliance with OTS standards for state applications
- Perform additional tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans as directed
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
Required Experience
- Two (2)+ years of advanced SQL experience writing complex queries, joins, and stored procedures to identify anomalies and transform data types
- Two (2)+ years of ETL experience using enterprise tools (e.g., Informatica, SSIS) or scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to move data from source to destination systems
- Four (4)+ years of experience working on data migration or data integration projects, including data
- profiling, schema mapping, data normalization, and error handling
Preferred Experience
- Experience creating documentation such as data mapping documents and data dictionaries
- Experience working on a development team
- Experience with client engagements across design, delivery, deployment, and ongoing maintenance
- Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
