Requirement Notes (Candidate Job description below) : We need a senior (10+ years) Business Analyst with experience supporting Data Quality projects in Capital Markets Environments to Support the implementation and adoption of Alation as the enterprise data quality and governance platform. Candidates must Define and document data quality rules, controls, and validation frameworks to improve accuracy, completeness, and consistency of critical datasets. Candidates must have Strong experience in Financial Services (hedge funds, asset management, banking, or private credit environments and Hands-on experience with data governance, data quality, or metadata platforms - Alation strongly preferred. ****CANDIDATES MUST HAVE PERFECT COMMUNICATION SKILLS WITH NO ACCENT. CANDIDATES WITH ENGLISH AS A FIRST LANGUAGE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED. CANDIDATES MUST ALSO HAVE RECENT CAPITAL MARKETS/TRADING EXPERIENCE NOT RETAIL OR COMMERCIAL BANKING.

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and adoption of Alation as the enterprise data quality and governance platform.
- Define and document data quality rules, controls, and validation frameworks to improve accuracy, completeness, and consistency of critical datasets.
- Work as a highly technical Business Analyst, translating governance requirements into actionable data quality solutions.
- Perform deep data analysis using SQL and profiling tools to identify anomalies, gaps, and lineage issues.
- Partner with data engineers, product owners, and governance leads to establish data standards and stewardship workflows.
- Assist in building metadata catalogs, business glossaries, and lineage documentation aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops across investment, risk, and operations teams to define data quality KPIs and governance processes.
- Support testing, validation, and rollout of new governance capabilities within Alation.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in Financial Services (hedge funds, asset management, banking, or private credit environments preferred).
- Hands-on experience with data governance, data quality, or metadata platforms - Alation strongly preferred.
- Technical Business Analyst background with strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Proven experience implementing or supporting data quality, accuracy, and governance initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data lineage, stewardship models, and enterprise data controls.
- Ability to work closely with technical engineering teams and business stakeholders in agile delivery environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with governance frameworks (BCBS 239, regulatory reporting, or risk data controls).
- Exposure to data cataloging tools (Collibra, Purview, etc.).
- Knowledge of modern data platforms, cloud data environments, or lakehouse architectures.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills within regulated financial environment
