- As a Network Security Engineer, you''''''''ll provide technical support for hardware and applications.
- You''''''''ll be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, operating systems, software, and related infrastructure.
- You''''''''ll ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards and security requirements.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Support of remote sites including data centers with ability to provide smart hands support for infrastructure and network equipment.
- Manage and maintain enterprise-grade network firewalls, including rule creation, policy reviews, and security hardening.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot routing and switching infrastructure within a multi-site environment.
- Administer and optimize application delivery and traffic-balancing platforms to ensure high availability and performance.
- Perform network vulnerability assessments and port-scanning activities to identify and remediate security risks.
- Oversee centralized log collection, monitoring, and alerting systems to support operational visibility and incident response.
- Maintain and report on security patching on all Firewalls, Routers, Switches, applications for backups, syslog, monitoring, and appliances in the Network, within required time frames.
- Manage secure network backup processes, including automated configurations, validation, and restoration procedures.
- Follow NERC CIP Standards and meets time sensitive deadlines.
- Participate in 24x7 on call rotation, providing application and hardware support.
- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets client’s Safe Driver policy.
- Install ( Rack and Stack ) , Upgrade IOS on new equipment
- Proficient with Visio
Position Responsibilities
As an employee in the Platform Engineer role, your key roles and responsibilities will include:
- Ability to lead work efforts and resources within team and across functions to achieve key outcomes

- Gather information, define, and resolve issues or outages that occur within the infrastructure, in a timely fashion.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, and key processes.
- Reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Perform periodic performance reporting of hardware to support capacity planning.
- Responsible for backup and recovery of all devices, participation in Disaster Recovery exercises.
- Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues encountered.
- Follows NERC CIP Standards and meets time sensitive deadlines
- Works with vendors as needed to support compliance activities, resolve issues with appliances and server hardware and software.
- Position requires 25% travel on monthly basis by vehicle with clean license

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor''''''''s degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and suppliers in different time zones.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have Firewalls, Routers & Switch background
- Develop detailed network diagrams, topology maps, and design documentation.
- Ability to work with technology vendors and technical leads to define solutions
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, pay attention to detail, and deliver high-quality results.

- Firewall Administration & Security Policy Management
- Demonstrated ability to manage enterprise-grade firewalls, including rule creation, policy optimization, change control, and proactive security hardening.
Routing & Switching Expertise
- Strong understanding of routing protocols, switching technologies, VLANs, and network segmentation with hands-on experience supporting multi-site network environments.
Application Delivery & Load Balancing Knowledge
- Experience configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting application delivery platforms, including traffic distribution, health monitoring, and high-availability configurations.
Vulnerability Assessment & Network Scanning
- Ability to run and analyze network vulnerability scans, interpret results, prioritize risk, and work with teams to remediate findings.
- Log Management & Monitoring Proficiency
- Skilled in configuring and monitoring centralized log aggregation systems, creating alerts, and using log data for diagnostics and incident response.
Configuration Backup & Recovery Processes
- Familiar with maintaining secure network device backups, automated collection workflows, version management, and restoration procedures.
Core Networking Fundamentals
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, Routing Protocols, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, VPN technologies, and general network security best practices.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostic Skills
- Ability to analyze traffic flows, logs, performance metrics, and packet captures to identify root causes and ensure network stability.
Documentation & Process Discipline
- Capable of creating and maintaining network diagrams, configuration baselines, operating procedures, and change documentation.
Collaboration & Communication
- Able to work closely with security, infrastructure, and application teams, translating technical issues into actionable information for stakeholders.
Systems installation and removal
- Installs or removes system components using supplied installation instructions and tools. Conducts standard tests and contributes to investigations of problems and faults - documents results in accordance with agreed procedures.
Configuration management
- Applies tools, techniques and processes to administer, track, log, report on and correct configuration items, components and changes. Assists with audits to check the accuracy of the information and undertakes any necessary corrective action under direction.
Testing
- Designs test cases, creates test scripts and test data, and automates repeatable tasks. Executes & records manual and automated testing in accordance with test plans. Analyses and reports on test activities, results, issues and risks.
