Summary

Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager/Sr. Consultant to lead digital commerce initiatives for a growing organization in Chicago, Illinois. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can guide multiple Shopify-related projects from planning through launch while partnering closely with business teams, technical resources, and external vendors. The role is focused on delivery leadership, coordination, and execution rather than hands-on development work.

Responsibilities:
Oversee several eCommerce and Shopify project tracks at the same time, ensuring progress stays aligned with business objectives and delivery targets.
Partner with developers, quality assurance teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to keep initiatives moving smoothly across all phases of execution.
Build and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and status updates while proactively identifying and addressing risks or blockers.
Collect, organize, and prioritize business and technical needs to support clear scope definition and effective project delivery.
Lead work across both Agile and traditional project environments, including sprint activities, backlog oversight, milestone coordination, and schedule tracking.
Coordinate testing, release readiness, launch planning, and post-deployment support to help ensure successful production rollouts.
Resolve resource constraints, manage project interdependencies, and adapt plans as priorities shift across multiple workstreams.
Work with leadership and cross-functional partners to support decision-making, maintain alignment, and drive successful business outcomes.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience leading projects in a formal project management capacity.
Demonstrated experience managing Shopify initiatives and broader digital commerce or eCommerce programs.
Background overseeing website builds, enhancements, migrations, or related online commerce projects.
Proven ability to manage several active projects or workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Experience collaborating directly with developers, QA professionals, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Familiarity with testing coordination, release activities, and production launch support.
Working knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches.
Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and stakeholder management capabilities.
