The
Boeing Global Services Global Engineering and Operations organization is seeking a
first line manager to lead the
P-8A Modifications Integration Team (PMIT). This role will focus on overseeing the integration of engineering and logistics support systems for domestic and international P-8A I3B2 modification, developing strategies to support flawless execution of the existing mod program, capturing additional P-8 mod business and successfully managing, developing, and motivating a rapidly growing team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in execution of integration activities for collaborating with engineering, program management, supplier management, contracting and other functions for multiple programs with products in various life-cycle phases. Additionally, the candidate will have the ability to create a teaming environment across organizational boundaries, along with understanding the importance of open & honest communication.
Position Responsibilities:- Leads a diverse team of engineering and logistics integrators to achieve technical alignment across multiple functions and ensure successful business execution for P-8 modifications
- Works to ensure appropriate engineering resources are in place to enable P-8 modifications at multiple global locations
- Utilizes strong communication and collaboration skills to build cross-business unit relationships to create alignment in execution strategy
- Leads resolution of technical issues and risks, working with both internal and external teams to find solutions
- Provides vision and leadership in capturing future P-8 modification business opportunities
- Works to lead continuous improvement efforts to improve performance on current P-8 modification contracts
- Works to coach, develop, and inspire employees
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):- 2+ years of experience with Program Management Best Practices (PMBP)
- 2+ years experience leading teams or projects
- 1+ years of experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment and experience with major modification programs
- 1+ years of experience partnering with a United States Government (USG) Department of Defense (DoD) customer to propose or deliver services and products
- Able to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):- 1+ years of experience employing Earned Value Management techniques either as a project manager, control account manager, or control account manager assistant
- ABET accredited engineering degree
- Experience with schedule and budget management, integration of all logistics elements, customer communication, as well as understanding of execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule and technical baseline requirements are met
- Experience with military commercial derivative aircraft
- experience working with the US Navy as a customer
- Experience executing FMS contracts
- Experience supporting defense acquisition and proposal development
- Active Secret US Security Clearance
