Security Technical Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Security Technical Specialist to lead the protection of critical data, systems, and networks. This role is focused on high-level vulnerability management, incident response, and the implementation of robust security measures. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in Qualys administration and a proactive approach to threat detection and remediation.

• Vulnerability Management: Perform scheduled and ad-hoc scans across networks, servers, and endpoints using Qualys.

• Analysis & Remediation: Analyze scan results, validate findings, and prioritize remediation efforts based on risk and exploitability.

• Network Security: Monitor and upgrade security measures to protect infrastructure and existing data; identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities.

• Incident Response: Respond to system and network security breaches promptly to ensure minimal impact.

• Collaboration: Partner with IT and application teams to coordinate remediation, verify fixes, and manage patch management processes.

• Optimization: Tune scans and reduce false positives to improve data accuracy.

• Reporting: Develop vulnerability metrics, comprehensive dashboards, and executive-level reports.

• Network Security: 12 years of experience in network security and threat detection.

• Incident Response: 12 years of experience in incident response and vulnerability management.

• Qualys Administration: 12 years of hands-on experience administering Qualys.

• Remediation & Patching: 12 years of experience with remediation documentation and patch management processes.

• Education: 4-year college degree in a related field.

• Certification: CISSP Certification.

• Location: Candidates must be currently located within the state of Ohio.

• Response Time: Selected candidates must accept an offered position within 48 hours of notification.

• Compliance Completion: All compliance items must be completed and uploaded within 5 business days of acceptance.

• Equipment Policy: Strictly prohibited to take or use government equipment outside of the United States.
