Pay Rate: $35-$40/hr on W2 All inclusive

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Mainframe Developer with strong hands-on expertise in enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience after completing a Bachelor’s degree and must be open to relocating anywhere in the United States based on project requirements.

This is a long-term contract opportunity on W2, with visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates once assigned to a project.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

• Develop and maintain programs using COBOL, JCL, and related technologies

• Work with DB2, VSAM, and IMS databases

• Perform batch and online programming and support production jobs

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide root cause analysis

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation

• Collaborate with onsite and offshore teams in an Agile or Waterfall environment

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• 10+ years of hands-on Mainframe development experience (post-Bachelor’s)

• Strong experience with COBOL, JCL, and Mainframe utilities

• Experience with DB2, VSAM, and IMS

• Knowledge of CICS and batch processing

• Experience in debugging and performance tuning mainframe applications

• Familiarity with SDLC processes and production support

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with mainframe modernization or migration projects

• Exposure to distributed systems or integration with Java/Python applications

• Experience working in banking, insurance, or financial services domains

• Knowledge of scheduling tools such as Control-M or CA-7
