Accountant / Junior Controller (Financial Reporting & Close Support)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly detail‑oriented Accountant / Junior Controller to support daily accounting operations and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial reporting. This role is hands‑on and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment and enjoys working “in the weeds” of accounting. You will work closely with the CFO to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial close processes.

What You’ll Do

• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, AP/AR, and revenue‑related accounting in accordance with GAAP
• Analyze variances and provide insights to support operational and financial decision‑making
• Assist with audit preparation and documentation for external auditors
• Support tax and compliance filings, including sales tax, in coordination with the CFO
• Help maintain internal controls and improve accounting processes
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure financial accuracy and operational alignment

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred
• Approximately 5 years of accounting experience (public or industry)
• Strong experience supporting financial close and reporting processes
• Expert‑level Excel and QuickBooks skills are required
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience in a mid‑sized, hands‑on, or services‑based environment preferred (consulting/IT a plus)
• Extremely detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment
