Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Precision Medicine for a Remote position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The Precision Medicine PMO team is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Program Manager to support management of strategic and above-asset initiatives for the Clinical Biomarkers Laboratory (CBL) and Translational Pathology team. This role will be responsible for driving planning, coordination, governance, and execution of complex cross-functional initiatives that enable precision medicine laboratory capabilities, biomarker platform development, and operational infrastructure. The Program Manager will partner closely with scientific, technical, laboratory, operations, IT, and external collaborators to ensure initiatives are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Responsibilities: - Lead program management activities supporting the establishment of the new laboratory footprint
- Drive execution of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) implementation, including project planning, integrated timelines, milestone tracking, governance, budget coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communications
- Coordinate development and implementation of laboratory operational processes, governance models, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support planning and execution of pilot assay transfers ensuring alignment across laboratory operations, scientific teams, quality, IT, and external partners
- Provide program management support for strategic platform and technology development initiatives
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, and milestones
- Coordinate cross-functional activities across scientific, laboratory, computational, operations, procurement, legal, finance, and external collaborators
- Track project deliverables, risks, dependencies, budgets, and resource needs
- Facilitate governance meetings and prepare agendas, meeting minutes, executive summaries, and status reports
- Support vendor onboarding, Statements of Work (SOWs), purchase orders, and contract execution in partnership with Business Development, Procurement, and Legal
- Develop dashboards and executive reporting to communicate project health, milestones, and key decisions
- Drive implementation of standardized project management tools, templates, and best practices across platform development initiatives
Requirements: - PhD and/or Master's degree and 2 years of relevant PM experience OR
- Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant PM experience OR
- Associate's degree and 6 years of relevant PM experience
Desired skills: - Technical, scientific, or laboratory background with 6+ years of industry and/or academic experience
- Prior pharmaceutical, consulting, and/or drug development experience, specifically in research and early clinical development
- Experience supporting laboratory operations, biomarker development, diagnostics, or translational research
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) implementation or laboratory operational processes
- Experience working with external research collaborations and technology partners
- Program and project management skills with experience in a healthcare-related environment, operationalizing strategic initiatives
- Emotional intelligence skills including influencing without authority and navigating within a matrix environment
- Experience using Project Management and AI/ML tools, methodologies, practices and infrastructure, as related to the Biopharmaceutical Industry
- Highly experienced on MS Suite tools (PowerPoint, Excel, etc) and project management software such as Smartsheet, Planisware, SharePoint, etc
- Finance and budget management experience
- Business process and systems management, Project planning and management (PMP preferred)
- Knowledge of SOPs, good clinical practices and regulatory requirements
Pay range: up to $56.22 per hour
