Summary
Position Overview
The Technical Trainer (Advanced) will support the Child Support Program’s Operational Procedures and Training Process by augmenting existing program resources. This role provides technical assistance and consultation services focused on the development, revision, and maintenance of instructor-led and computer-based training materials in support of client Project.
The consultant will collaborate closely with agency executives, program managers, technical and functional staff, contractors, and operational support teams to ensure accurate, timely, and effective instructional content aligned with program standards.
Required Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience developing instructor-led and computer-based training
Experience writing clear and effective technical instructions
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Articulate Storyline 360
Preferred Experience
Experience working with knowledge base software
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and revise instructor-led and computer-based training using varied instructional methods
Create and edit work instructions, user guides, and other training documentation
Analyze system and procedural changes and assess impacts on instructional materials
Coordinate with operational and support processes and OPT unit team members to ensure training materials are created or updated accurately and on time
Manage review and approval processes with team leads, Revenue Program Administrators, operational staff, and senior management
Gather and synthesize information from subject matter experts, procedures, evaluations, and feedback to create engaging, easy-to-understand training content
Apply strong grammar, punctuation, plain language principles, and logical content flow
Follow departmental and OPT standards for development, review, and approval of instructional materials
Demonstrate proficiency in training development tools, including PowerPoint and Articulate Storyline 360
Develop measurable course objectives, meaningful learner interactions, and aligned assessments/quizzes
Coordinate publication of instructional materials with team leads
Provide quality assurance and technical assistance throughout training development and revisions
Adhere to established plans and processes and recommend updates when requested
Attend, document, schedule, and lead project-related meetings; prepare agendas, presentations, and meeting minutes as required
Communicate project information to Child Support Program staff, contractors, and partners, including sharing specialized instructional development knowledge
Education / Certifications
Bachelor’s degree or certification in Instructional Design or a related field
Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
