Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Engineer III to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC/R, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and building systems across assigned facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in commercial and supermarket refrigeration systems, preventive maintenance, and facility engineering operations.

This role requires a hands-on professional capable of independently diagnosing and resolving equipment issues while ensuring facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining critical building infrastructure, minimizing downtime, and supporting overall facility performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC/R, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including supermarket refrigeration rack systems.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair building systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Maintain electrical distribution systems and associated controls.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on plumbing, piping, and production equipment as required.
  • Conduct facility inspections and document findings, deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Respond to service requests and emergency maintenance situations in a timely manner.
  • Utilize CMMS systems (such as Corrigo) to manage work orders, document completed work, and maintain service records.
  • Update work order status in real time and ensure accurate maintenance documentation.
  • Maintain inventory and submit purchasing card receipts and expense records as required.
  • Support building interior and exterior maintenance, including lighting, flooring, fixtures, roofing systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours service requests when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, environmental regulations, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in building engineering, facility maintenance, HVAC/R, refrigeration, electrical, or related technical fields.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial refrigeration and supermarket refrigeration rack systems.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Commercial HVAC/R systems
    • Refrigeration systems
    • Electrical distribution systems
    • Plumbing and piping systems
    • Mechanical equipment maintenance
    • Production equipment repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of building systems design, operation, and applications.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Valid driver''s license with the ability to travel between assigned facilities.
  • Ability to participate in on-call and emergency maintenance support.
  • Universal EPA/CFC Refrigerant Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Willingness to join UFCW Local 951.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using CMMS platforms, preferably Corrigo.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and related computer applications.
  • Completion of a technical trade school program or documented apprenticeship in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical systems, or related disciplines.
  • UST Class B Certification (training provided).
  • Experience supporting retail, grocery, supermarket, distribution, or industrial facilities.
