About the Role

Lead Agent Engineer, Operations Excellence Enablement

Job Summary

This role is both a hands-on builder and solution designer, responsible for delivering automation, agent, and AI-enabled solutions end-to-end. This role works directly with business partners to understand problems, outcomes, and constraints, then applies deep expertise across low-code platforms, engineering concepts, and AI technologies to determine and build the right solution for the problem.

This role brings broad and deep knowledge of the enterprise automation and agent ecosystem and uses that expertise to design, build, and deliver solutions that are practical, scalable, and outcome-driven. While strategic in approach, this role is firmly execution-oriented and accountable for solutions being delivered into production and driving real operational impact.

Day to day you'll...

Own problem-to-solution delivery
  • Work directly with business partners to understand problems, desired outcomes, and operational realities
  • Leverage deep knowledge of available automation, agent, and AI solutions to determine the most effective technical approach
  • Translate business and process needs into clear solution designs and then personally build and deliver those solutions
  • Own solutions end-to-end, from discovery and design through build, deployment, and optimization

Hands-on solution building using low-code and engineering skills
  • Build production-ready automation, agent, and AI-enabled solutions using enterprise low-code platforms as the primary toolset
  • Apply engineering fundamentals, including integrations, APIs, data modeling, error handling, and performance considerations
  • Extend or complement low-code solutions with engineering or ML capabilities when appropriate
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards

Serve as the team's solution expert
  • Act as the subject-matter expert on the full range of automation, agent, low-code, and AI technologies available to the enterprise
  • Advise on solution selection, architectural tradeoffs, and platform fit based on problem context and outcomes
  • Lead solution design decisions for complex or high-impact initiatives
  • Educate team members on new technologies and capabilities
  • Partner with Operational Excellence Enablement and Lean Six Sigma Black Belts to align solution design to optimized processes and measurable outcomes

Standards, patterns, and operational discipline
  • Define and contribute to standards, patterns, and best practices for building and operating automation and AI-enabled solutions
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise expectations for auditability, monitoring, and operational support
  • Identify opportunities to further automate standardized processes as they mature

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Significant experience designing and delivering enterprise automation, agent-based, or AI-enabled solutions
  • Strong understanding of automation platforms, agent technologies, integrations, and solution architecture
  • Experience translating business and process requirements into technical designs
  • Proven ability to work directly with business partners and technical teams to deliver outcomes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with Lean Six Sigma Black Belts or Operational Excellence teams
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and outcome measurement
  • Experience with AI-enabled workflows, autonomous agents, or digital workers
  • Background in enterprise-scale solution design and delivery
  • Experience evaluating and piloting emerging automation or AI technologies
  • Ability to operate as a hands-on expert while influencing solution direction across a team
