Senior Technical Project Manager Cloud Migration Programs
As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will lead strategic cloud transformation initiatives focused on migrating business-critical applications from on-premises environments to AWS and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). Partnering with architecture, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, operations, and development teams, you will drive the successful delivery of complex migration programs that improve scalability, resiliency, security, and operational efficiency.
This role is ideal for a project management professional with proven experience leading enterprise cloud migrations and working within established cloud governance and landing zone frameworks.
What You'll Do
Lead end-to-end migration programs involving applications, databases, middleware, and infrastructure moving from on-premises environments to AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
Develop project plans, migration waves, dependency maps, testing strategies, cutover plans, and stabilization activities.
Coordinate cross-functional teams across architecture, platform engineering, networking, security, operations, and software development.
Establish project governance, executive reporting, risk management processes, and stakeholder communications.
Drive migration readiness reviews and ensure alignment with cloud architecture, security, compliance, and operational requirements.
Manage project risks, dependencies, budgets, timelines, and executive escalations while maintaining focus on business outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8+ years of technical project management experience delivering complex technology initiatives.
3+ years leading cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, or application transformation programs.
Demonstrated experience migrating enterprise applications from on-premises environments to AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience working with enterprise landing zones, cloud governance frameworks, security guardrails, IAM, networking, observability, and shared platform services.
Experience leading programs involving architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations teams.
Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Project.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and risk management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification.
Experience within fintech, payments, banking, or other highly regulated industries.
Experience supporting hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud strategies.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with Microsoft Copilot or other AI-enabled productivity tools.
Success in the First 12 Months
Successfully deliver multiple application migrations to AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
Establish effective governance and reporting for cloud transformation initiatives.
Improve migration predictability through disciplined dependency, risk, and cutover management.
Build strong partnerships across cloud platform engineering, architecture, security, and application teams.
Accelerate cloud adoption while maintaining operational stability, compliance, and security.
