Job Summary
The Business Solutions Lead is responsible for working with business owners to design, develop, and implement technology solutions that align with the strategic objectives of the organization. Working under the direction of the Director of Project Management, this role partners closely with business stakeholders across multiple departments, including project management, to understand business needs, assess requirements, and create solutions that support efficiency, scalability, and return on investment.
This role configures technology tools to meet business needs and provides training and support to ensure effective use of software throughout the project lifecycle. The Business Solutions Lead partners with project teams, technology, process improvement, vendor management, and vendors to ensure solutions are well designed, well documented, and aligned with business expectations. This role also takes a lead in the vendor selection process to ensure all solutions are evaluated objectively for value, fit, and compliance prior to implementation.
A successful Business Solutions Lead is collaborative, demonstrates leadership when working with third parties and internal project teams, and is detail- oriented with the ability to translate ideas into actionable solutions and facilitate informed decision making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify, clarify, and document requirements for new projects.
- Perform business process analysis to enhance requirements development, provide consultation on industry best practices for vendor sourcing, design new solutions based on gathered requirements and real business needs, and support implementation through deployment.
- Translate business needs into technical and functional specifications to guide vendor selection and system configuration.
- Follow the Software Implementation Lifecycle (SIL) to deploy software solutions, including requirements analysis, system design and configuration, testing, deployment, training, and hypercare support.
- Create and maintain system related documentation, including business, system, and functional requirements, high level process flows, business cases, and configuration worksheets.
- Lead vendor engagement activities, including demonstrations and evaluation sessions, on behalf of the business.
- Partner with Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) to support due diligence, contract review, and risk assessment processes.
- Partner with TPRM to ensure RFPs meet documented business needs.
- Analyze solution options for functionality, integration potential, scalability, and total cost of ownership.
- Document vendor evaluations and provide informed recommendations to project sponsors.
- Research and understand emerging technology trends to recommend potential solutions that improve efficiency and transform business processes while remaining aligned with organizational risk tolerance.
- Prepare presentations and gain consensus from business stakeholders, sponsors, and project teams.
- Collaborate with end users during the design and deployment of business solutions.
- Ensure software is configured correctly and functions as intended; document testing plans, system design, technical architecture, and data flows.
- Encourage innovation while ensuring solutions remain risk compliant.
- Partner with internal and external teams for solution and system dependencies.
- Partner with business stakeholders and learning & development teams to develop detailed end user training to support effective system usage.
- Maintain documentation of approved decisions, process impacts, issues, and defects that arise during the project and implementation process.
- Ensure solutions are transitioned from hypercare to Technology and Business Operations Support teams, providing system expertise as needed during the transition.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Agriculture, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience supporting or leading software implementations in an internal, business facing role.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non technical stakeholders.
