Position Overview
The State of Texas is seeking an experienced Senior Data Warehouse Developer/DBA with strong hands-on expertise in Enterprise Data Warehousing, Data Marts, Data Modeling, ETL, Snowflake, Oracle, SQL, Business Objects, and Power BI.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-class data warehouse environments and business intelligence solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain Data Marts to support business reporting and analytical requirements.
- Develop and maintain data warehouse population and data integration processes.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective data warehouse solutions.
- Develop logical and physical data models based on business and technical requirements.
- Design and implement Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and highly normalized data models.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple source systems.
- Utilize Informatica, IBM WebSphere DataStage, or similar ETL tools for enterprise data integration.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, cleansing, and loading activities.
- Work with Snowflake and enterprise database environments to support data warehouse and analytical solutions.
- Develop and optimize complex Oracle SQL queries, procedures, and database objects.
- Support enterprise-class databases such as Oracle, Snowflake, SQL Server, Teradata, or similar technologies.
- Develop and maintain reporting and analytical solutions using Business Objects and Power BI.
- Support BI platforms such as Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, or similar reporting technologies.
- Build and maintain data dictionaries, metadata, business definitions, and technical documentation.
- Analyze data warehouse performance, data quality, and integration issues and coordinate appropriate resolutions.
- Participate in the complete data warehouse implementation lifecycle, including requirements analysis, logical modeling, physical database design, data sourcing, transformation, loading, SQL development, and reporting.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
- Perform data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy, consistency, completeness, and reliability of enterprise data.
- Support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.
- Manage multiple priorities while working effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Communicate technical concepts and analytical findings clearly to both technical and business audiences.

Candidates should also demonstrate strong experience with enterprise data warehouse implementations, data marts, database technologies, BI/reporting platforms, data integration, and analytical solutions.
