Key Responsibilities:- Technical Leadership: Provide architectural direction and hands-on leadership in the design, development, and deployment of scalable solutions aligned to our New Business workstream and newly selected ALIP platform.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable technical strategies.
- Team Mentorship: Guide and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
- System Modernization: Lead initiatives to modernize legacy admin systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and long-term business goals.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure all solutions adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Documentation & Standards: Establish and maintain best practices for documentation, coding standards, and integration patterns.
- AI & Innovation: Champion the exploration and integration of AI technologies, including prompt engineering and Copilot tools, to enhance productivity and system intelligence.
- Cross-Team Alignment: Facilitate alignment across architecture, development, and business teams to ensure cohesive delivery and shared understanding of objectives.
- Embed SRE Principles: Implement reliability engineering practices, including observability, proactive monitoring, and automated recovery.
- Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to ensure system health and customer trust.
- Automation & Efficiency: Build automated deployment pipelines, incident response workflows, and self-healing mechanisms.
Qualifications:- Proven Experience: 7+ years in software engineering with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or consulting role.
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in Policy Administration, Integrations (Batch, API, Streaming). With a firm understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back-end languages.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technical solutions with business strategy and long-term vision.
- Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Project Oversight: Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving change in a fast-paced environment.

Experience: Six years of experience in programming and systems analysis. Three years of experience in project management is preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Hands-on technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction. Proficiency in one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle sophisticated business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
