Role Title: Enterprise Architect – Oracle Fusion Cloud (Financials, Projects & FP&A)

Projects: Project Costing
Planning & Analytics: FP&A (Oracle EPBCS / Planning Cloud)
Experience: 15+ years overall | 8+ years in Oracle Fusion Cloud / ERP architecture
Location: Denver, CO (Remote but willing to travel)
Duration:06 Months+
The Enterprise Architect will define, govern, and assure the end-to-end Oracle Fusion Cloud architecture across Financials, Projects, and FP&A, ensuring scalability, compliance, performance, and alignment with enterprise digital strategy.
This role serves as the architectural authority across application, integration, data, security, and analytics layers, guiding implementation, stabilization, and optimization of Fusion Cloud.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise & Target State Architecture
- Define current-state, interim, and target-state architectures for Oracle Fusion Cloud
- Establish enterprise architecture principles covering:
- SaaS-first and configuration-over-customization
- Integration and data ownership
- Security, compliance, and extensibility
- Ensure alignment with enterprise roadmap and cloud strategy
2. Fusion Architecture Governance
Own architectural decisions across:
- Fusion Financials, Project Costing, and FP&A
- Co-existence between ERP and EPM (EPBCS)
- Quarterly update impact and readiness strategy
- Review and approve:
- Solution Design Documents
- Integration and reporting architecture
- Extension and customization approach
3. Financials & Projects Architecture Oversight
Provide architectural guidance for:
- GL: Ledger, accounting calendar, SLA, and reporting architecture
- AP / AR: Transaction processing, CM integration, and TAX determination
- FA: Asset lifecycle, depreciation, and accounting flows
- CM: Banking, reconciliation, and cash positioning
- TAX: Tax rules, regimes, and statutory compliance
- Project Costing: Cost collection, capitalization, billing, and accounting
- Ensure end-to-end accounting integrity across Financials and Projects
4. FP&A / EPM Architecture
- Define ERP–EPM integration strategy between:
- Fusion GL & Subledgers
- EPBCS / Planning Cloud
- Govern:
- Chart of Accounts alignment
- Data movement, reconciliation, and close processes
- Ensure scalable planning, forecasting, and reporting architecture
5. Integration, Data & Reporting Architecture
- Define enterprise integration patterns using:
- Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC)
- REST / FBDI / File-based integrations
- Govern data architecture:
- Master data ownership
- Data quality, reconciliation, and auditability
- Oversee reporting strategy:
- OTBI, BI Publisher, Financial Reporting Studio
- EPM analytics where applicable
6. Extensions & UX Strategy
- Define controlled extension strategy using:
- VBCS
- Redwood UX
- Ensure extensions are:
- Upgrade-safe
- Secure and performant
- Aligned with Oracle best practices
7. Security, Controls & Compliance
- Define enterprise security architecture:
- Role-based access control
- Segregation of Duties (SoD)
- Ensure compliance with:
- SOX / ITGC
- Financial and statutory requirements
- Govern audit readiness and access certifications
8. Performance, Scalability & Stability
- Ensure solution supports:
- High-volume financial transactions
- Period close and reporting timelines
- Lead architectural reviews during:
- Go-live
- Stabilization
- Optimization / Fast Follow phases
9. Stakeholder & Leadership Responsibilities
- Act as architectural authority for:
- Program leadership
- System integrators
- Internal IT and security teams
- Present architecture decisions to executive stakeholders
- Mentor solution and technical architects
Required Skills & Experience
- Deep hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials architecture
- Proven experience with Project Costing and ERP–EPM (FP&A) integrations
- Strong understanding of:
- Fusion security model
- Integration and reporting landscape
- Quarterly update governance
- Ability to translate business strategy into enterprise-scale cloud architecture
