We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in statutory accounting and insurance. This individual will play a critical role in our finance team, providing expert guidance on financial reporting, auditing, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the insurance industry, including P&C insurance, and will be comfortable with frequent travel for in-person meetings. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking company and make a significant impact on our financial operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of statutory accounting and capital management for our P&C insurance division.
2. Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
3. Conduct internal audits to identify any areas of risk or non-compliance.
4. Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement financial strategies and initiatives.
5. Provide expert advice and guidance on financial matters to senior management.
6. Travel for in-person meetings on a quarterly basis (1 trip per quarter for about 4 days).
7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
8. Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team.

Qualifications:

1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
2. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
3. 7+ years of experience in statutory accounting and/or capital management
4. 1-3 years of public accounting experience preferred.
5. Proven experience in the insurance industry (preferred in for a P&C insurance company )
6. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Willingness to travel for in-person meetings on a quarterly basis.
10. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
