SAP Finance Transformation Project Manager

Job Title: SAP Finance Transformation Project Manager

• The SAP Finance Transformation Project Manager leads enterprise-wide initiatives to modernize and automate core SAP Finance processes across General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Financial Reporting. This role drives the planning, sequencing, and delivery of transformation programs that reduce manual effort, strengthen financial controls, and improve close, reporting, and cash cycle efficiency.
• Working across SAP ECC and S/4HANA landscapes, the PM partners with Finance leadership, solution architects, developers, and third-party automation vendors to translate strategic finance objectives into well-governed, executable project plans. This role requires enough fluency in SAP Finance processes and automation technologies (AI, RPA, SAP BTP) to manage scope, dependencies, and risk credibly — without requiring hands-on configuration work.

• Lead end-to-end delivery of SAP Finance transformation initiatives spanning GL, AR, AP, and Financial Reporting, from business case through go-live and hyper care.
• Own project plans, timelines, budgets, and resourcing for automation and digital transformation programs, including AI, Generative AI, RPA, and SAP BTP-based initiatives.
• Drive process automation roadmaps for close and consolidation (GL), invoice-to-cash (AR), procure-to-pay (AP), and management/statutory reporting.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams — Finance business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, and third-party platform vendors — to keep transformation workstreams aligned and on schedule.
• Manage vendor relationships and delivery milestones for AR/AP automation platforms (e.g., High Radius, OCR/invoice automation tools) and their integration with SAP.
• Track and report project status, risks, interdependencies, and financial/business impact to Finance and IT leadership, escalating and resolving blockers as needed.
• Facilitate requirements workshops with Finance stakeholders and ensure business needs are accurately scoped, prioritized, and translated into deliverables.
• Own testing, UAT, cutover, and deployment planning for GL, AR, AP, and reporting enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to close and reporting cycles.
• Maintain and prioritize the transformation backlog/PI board, adjusting scope and sequencing as business priorities shift.
• Promote change management and adoption planning to ensure automated processes are sustainably embedded in day-to-day Finance operations.

• Working knowledge of core SAP Finance modules — GL, AR, AP, and Financial Reporting — across SAP ECC/S4HANA, sufficient to manage scope and sequencing decisions.
• Experience managing projects involving process automation and digital transformation in Finance (AI, Generative AI, RPA, SAP BTP, or similar).
• Familiarity with close and reporting processes (period-end close, consolidations, statutory/management reporting) and common automation levers within them.
• Experience managing AR/AP automation platform implementations (e.g., High Radius or comparable tools) and their API-based integration with SAP.
• Understanding of AP processes such as invoice automation, vendor payments, and reconciliation, and AR processes such as cash application, credit, collections, and disputes.
• Experience managing interface and third-party integration projects at enterprise scale.
• Strong vendor management, risk tracking, and executive stakeholder communication skills.
• PMP, Agile/Scrum certification preferred; experience running hybrid waterfall/agile delivery in a Finance systems environment a plus.
