The Fraud Analyst will act as a key partner to the credit card business, getting portfolio-level fraud insights and helpong business shape medium- to long-term fraud strategies that balance loss mitigation, customer experience, and growth objectives. The role will focus less on individual case handling and more on trend analysis, strategy design, and cross-functional alignment with business, risk, and technology teams.
Strategic Job Duties
Own end-to-end analysis of fraud trends across the issuer credit card portfolio and translate insights into clear strategic recommendations for the business.
Define and refine the overall fraud strategy and roadmap (short-, medium-, and long-term), aligned with business goals, risk appetite, and customer experience expectations.
Evaluate the effectiveness of existing fraud policies, rules, models, and controls at a portfolio level, and propose strategic optimizations (e.g., targeting specific segments, channels, or products).
Lead strategic initiatives to reduce fraud losses, false positives, and customer friction, including championing pilots, A/B tests, and multi-phase strategy rollouts.
Partner closely with product, marketing, digital, and operations teams to embed fraud considerations into new product launches, feature design, and channel strategies.
Monitor the external fraud landscape (industry trends, schemes, regulatory changes, network rules) and proactively incorporate these insights into issuer fraud strategies and playbooks.
Preferred Strategic / Issuer Experience
Demonstrated experience shaping fraud strategy in a credit card issuing environment, with direct exposure to portfolio management and risk appetite discussions.
Strong ability to connect data and analytics to business strategy, articulating trade-offs between fraud loss, customer experience, and revenue.
Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions through clear, structured analysis and recommendations.
