Summary

Performance Engineering
End-to-end performance engineering activities-from requirement gathering and workload modeling to analysis, diagnosis, and optimization.
Define performance KPIs, SLAs, SLOs, and non-functional requirements for enterprise applications.

Qualifications
Expert-level understanding of performance engineering principles, distributed systems, concurrency models, and cloud-native architectures.
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with the ability to interpret complex performance data.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
5 years of progressive experience in performance engineering and large-scale system optimization.
10 years of hands-on expertise with performance testing tools (LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, Locust, K6, etc.).
Contribute to automation frameworks using Java, JavaScript, Python and related technologies, especially to collect single-user response times.
Strong experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Solid understanding of databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or NoSQL stores) from a performance standpoint.
Experience integrating performance testing into CI/CD ecosystems.
Provide technical input in observability, monitoring, and alerting best practices (e.g., Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana,
ELK, Datadog).
Experience with observability tooling and metrics: Dynatrace, Geneos, Splunk, Grafana; ability to interpret system/resource metrics and application telemetry.
Familiar with Agile Methodology; ability to work independently with strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams.

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
