Role Summary
Seeking an experienced IBM MQ & Engineer to support mission-critical messaging platforms within the SRE organization. Responsible for platform reliability, availability, automation, monitoring, incident management, and service improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
· Administer and support IBM MQ and environments (Prod/UAT/DR).
· Manage Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, Clusters, Topics, VPNs, and Event Mesh.
· Perform troubleshooting, RCA, capacity planning, patching, upgrades, and DR testing.
· Drive SRE practices including SLO/SLI monitoring, automation, and operational excellence.
· Support major incidents, problem management, and 24x7 production operations.
· Develop automation scripts and improve platform observability.
Required Skills
· IBM MQ: Queue Managers, Clustering, Pub/Sub, SSL/TLS, HA/DR, MQ Appliance.
· Solace PubSub+: Message VPNs, Topics, Queues, Event Mesh, HA/DR, JMS/AMQP/MQTT.
· Monitoring: Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace/AppDynamics, ELK.
· Scripting: Python, Shell, Ansible.
· Platforms: Linux/Unix, Kubernetes/OpenShift (preferred).
· Strong experience in Production Support, Incident Management, and Problem Management.
Preferred
· Financial Services domain experience.
· Exposure to Kafka, DataPower, Apigee, API Management, and Event-Driven Architectures.
· Knowledge of ITIL and SRE best practices
