Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) / Data Analyst on behalf of our client in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud data platforms, strong SQL and analytical skills, and a background in database administration or data analysis. This role involves managing, optimizing, and automating cloud data warehouses while collaborating closely with data engineering and analytics teams.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, monitor, and optimize cloud data platforms, specifically Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery.
Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Handle user access, security controls, and ensure compliance.
Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost monitoring.
Collaborate on scalable data warehouse design, including partitioning, clustering, and distribution strategies.
Contribute to data modeling and schema design best practices for analytics workloads.
Build scripts and automation for monitoring, deployment, and maintenance.
Optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
Implement observability and workload management tools to ensure smooth operations.

Required Qualifications

7-8+ years of experience as a DBA, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst with database administration exposure.
Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery.
Strong SQL skills with query optimization expertise.
Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Airflow, Talend, or similar.
Knowledge of AWS and Google Cloud Platform cloud environments.
Understanding of data security and access control practices.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in cloud data warehouse cost optimization.
Exposure to automation and scripting.
Background supporting analytics and business intelligence workloads.
