Job Title: Mechanical Engineer IV
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months (Potential for Extension)


Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer IV with a strong background in consumer electronics packaging design to join a collaborative engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, validating, and implementing innovative packaging solutions while working closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturers. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to contribute to sustainable packaging initiatives and support global product launches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop packaging solutions for corrugated, molded pulp, and assembly packaging.
  • Create packaging documentation using packaging CAD tools.
  • Perform packaging validation and engineering studies using ISTA, ASTM, or equivalent testing standards.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and automation solutions in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to supplier and manufacturing sites as needed.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to support product development and launches.
  • Drive continuous improvements in packaging quality, manufacturability, and sustainability.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master''s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in packaging engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • Strong experience with Esko Artios or similar packaging CAD software for corrugated, paperboard, and molded pulp packaging.
  • Experience designing packaging for high-volume consumer electronics.
  • Knowledge of packaging validation and testing standards such as ISTA and ASTM.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with international suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of sustainable packaging, accessibility, and packaging automation.
  • Experience with print decoration and surface treatment processes.
