Title: Commission Manager


Type (Contract): 12 months


Location: Virtual (must be near one of these cities/states) - ARL, AUS, SEA, BOS, NASH, NYC, TOR, SFO, DAL, HOU, LAX, PHX, ATL, CHI


Interview times: 2 rounds


PR: $57-$61/hr.


Day to day:



  • Coordinate with procurement to evaluate, hire, and train third-party commissioning (Cx) vendors on client s program standards.

  • Supporting and facilitating the commissioning process during design, construction, and occupancy, reviewing and approving relevant documents and Cx milestones.

  • Assist internal teams to navigate the program with 3rd-party commissioning vendors as needed to ensure seamless project flow.

  • Conduct regular reviews of items with frequent fails on commissioning inspections to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

  • Collaborate and coordinate internal operations, design, and engineering stakeholders to increase efficiency and standardization across domestic and global sites.

  • Create a feedback loop from results to Template and Design Criteria to improve the overall commissioning program.



Must haves:



  • 10+ years of experience in commissioning and engineering, with a strong background in commercial and private sector projects rather than primarily government.

  • Professional certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA), LEED AP, or Certified Energy Manager (CEM).

  • Strong technical knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), building codes, ASHRAE standards, and industry regulations.

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, and Autodesk Suite (Revit, Autodesk BIM 360, Navisworks) for coordination and clash detection.

  • Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end, including budget oversight, while operating independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical design content to non-technical team members and senior leadership.



Plusses:



  • Direct experience in the industrial sector, specifically with high-volume warehouse or fulfillment center design.

  • Experience scaling commissioning programs across both domestic and global sites to improve standardization.

  • Ability to operate effectively without heavy structure or rigid processes, prioritizing quality and resources through expert decision-making.
