Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP Project System (PS) Consultant with strong expertise in project accounting, cost control, and scheduling. The ideal candidate will support end-to-end SAP PS implementations and ongoing operations, working closely with finance, project management, and controlling teams to ensure accurate project tracking, budgeting, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
SAP PS Configuration & Support
- Configure and support SAP Project System (PS) modules including:
- Project structures (WBS, Networks, Activities)
- Milestones, scheduling, and progress tracking
- Maintain project versions, planning profiles, and settlement rules
- Support end-to-end project lifecycle from creation to closure
Project Accounting & Cost Control
- Manage project cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and actual cost tracking
- Configure and support:
- Cost planning and budget availability control (AVC)
- Revenue recognition and results analysis
- Settlement to Controlling (CO), Asset Accounting (AA), and Finance (FI)
- Analyze variances between planned, actual, and committed costs
Integration & Cross-Functional Support
- Ensure seamless integration between SAP PS and:
- FI (Financial Accounting)
- CO (Controlling)
- MM (Materials Management)
- SD (Sales & Distribution)
- Collaborate with finance and project management teams on reporting and compliance
- Support month-end and year-end project financial close activities
Scheduling & Execution
- Configure and manage project scheduling using:
- Network activities and dependencies
- Capacity planning and resource allocation
- Monitor critical paths, delays, and project timelines
- Support rescheduling and change impact analysis
Reporting & User Support
- Develop and support standard and custom SAP PS reports
- Assist business users with project status reporting and dashboards
- Provide user training, documentation, and L2/L3 production support
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with SAP Project System (PS)
- Strong expertise in project accounting, cost control, and scheduling
- Deep understanding of WBS, Networks, Milestones, and Settlement
- Strong integration knowledge with FI/CO (mandatory)
- Experience supporting capital and/or customer projects
- Excellent troubleshooting and business analysis skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA PS
- Knowledge of Results Analysis and Revenue Recognition
- Exposure to EPPM, CPM, or SAP PPM
