Position Summary
The DMC Estimating Manager plays a key role in integrating design, manufacturing, and construction cost intelligence into the organization's delivery platform. Reporting to the VP of Programs and partnering closely with executive leadership, this individual will lead estimating strategy, develop cost databases, leverage AI-driven analytics, and deliver precise cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) models that support strategic business decisions.
This role requires both strategic thinking and technical expertise, combining advanced data analysis with strong knowledge of design, manufacturing, and construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development of ground-up and comparative COGS estimates for healthcare and commercial projects
Build and maintain estimating databases, including Bills of Materials, historical COGS comparisons, and regional pricing benchmarks
Utilize AI, data modeling, and advanced analytics to improve estimating accuracy, value engineering, and procurement strategies
Partner cross-functionally with Design, Manufacturing, Construction, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to integrate cost, schedule, and risk data
Prepare and oversee conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimates
Develop and communicate pricing strategies, risk analyses, and value-engineering recommendations
Build and maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships
Ensure smooth handoff from estimating to operations, including documentation and lessons learned
Support business development efforts through proposals, presentations, and client-facing discussions
Drive continuous improvement in estimating accuracy, efficiency, and reporting outcomes
Skills & Abilities
Core Competencies
Expertise in compiling, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets using Excel and BI tools
Ability to read and interpret CAD, SolidWorks, and Revit drawings/models
Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering principles; mechanical/electrical familiarity is a plus
Ability to interpret Gantt schedules, financial statements, and cost risk models
Strong curiosity and willingness to deeply learn platform methodologies, assemblies, and standardized materials
Technical Experience (Preferred)
Python, SQL, data modeling, and distributed computing technologies such as Spark or Ray
Statistical modeling, machine learning, AI, and LLM/RAG applications
ETL/ELT pipelines, batch/streaming processes, schema evolution, and data quality validation
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly explain cost, schedule, and value insights to leadership and clients
