Position: IBM / COBOL Developer (PG2)
Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension)

Position Overview
This role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing a mature IBM i (AS/400) environment and its COBOL-based business applications. The primary focus is on production support, troubleshooting, system stability, and ongoing enhancements rather than new development.
The role will also support a long-term migration from IBM i to Hyland OnBase WorkView, including data transitions, integrations, testing, and operational continuity.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience developing and supporting COBOL applications on IBM i (AS/400)
- Strong hands-on experience with CL, DDS, and DB2 for i (SQL)
- Experience with IBM i tools including Access Client Solutions (ACS) and Navigator for i
- Strong background in batch processing and job scheduling
- Experience troubleshooting production systems in legacy or mature environments
- Exposure to or experience with Hyland OnBase WorkView
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities

System Support & Optimization (90%)>
- Maintain and support COBOL applications running on IBM i (AS/400)
- Troubleshoot application, batch, and system issues and implement fixes
- Manage batch processing, job scheduling, file transfers, and integrations
- Monitor system health, job queues, and performance indicators
- Support SQL-based data access using DB2 for i
- Handle emulator-related issues (PC5250), print queues, and spool files
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve production issues
- Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks

Migration & Administration (10%)>
- Support migration activities to Hyland OnBase WorkView
- Assist with data migration planning, integrations, and testing
- Support user profile administration and authority management
- Assist with backup and recovery processes (BRMS)
- Participate in upgrade validation and post-implementation support
Work Requirements
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends for maintenance or urgent support activities
- Must be able to work EST hours
- Remote candidates must reside within the continental U.S.
- Local candidates available for onsite/hybrid work preferred
