Job Summary
The Senior IT Business Analyst – ServiceNow plays a critical role in supporting and advancing an enterprise ServiceNow platform. This position partners closely with business stakeholders, Application Development teams, and ServiceNow platform teams to define, document, and translate business needs into scalable, high-quality ServiceNow solutions.
This individual will be responsible for driving requirements across ServiceNow modules, ensuring alignment between business objectives and platform capabilities, and supporting the full solution lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
ServiceNow Business Analysis & Platform Enablement
- Serve as a primary business analysis lead for initiatives leveraging the enterprise ServiceNow platform
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational needs, strategic objectives, and desired outcomes supported by ServiceNow
- Collaborate closely with ServiceNow Application Development and Platform teams to translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements
- Evaluate enhancement requests and new use cases to ensure alignment with platform standards and enterprise roadmap
Requirements Elicitation & Documentation
- Lead end-to-end requirements gathering using best-practice techniques including workshops, interviews, process modeling, user stories, use cases, and workflow analysis
- Document current-state and future-state business processes, identifying gaps and opportunities for ServiceNow automation and optimization
- Develop high-quality artifacts including business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Maintain traceability across business, functional, and technical requirements
Solution Design & Delivery Support
- Translate business needs into ServiceNow functional and configuration requirements consumable by developers and administrators
- Participate actively in solution design reviews to ensure proposed configurations meet business needs and platform best practices
- Support evaluation of solution options, including platform enhancements and integrations
- Partner with architects and development teams during build and deployment phases
- Develop an understanding of cost, effort, and value tradeoffs related to ServiceNow solution options
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise technology solutions
- 3+ years of experience working within a ServiceNow enterprise environment
- Proven experience partnering with ServiceNow developers, platform administrators, and application development teams
- Strong ability to translate business needs into ServiceNow functional and technical requirements
- Experience in business process transformation, workflow automation, and system re-engineering
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Analytics, or equivalent experience
