Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer Consultant (IT Consultant 1)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer Consultant to support enterprise cloud infrastructure initiatives within a large public-sector environment. This role will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing multi-cloud environments across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in cloud engineering, infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity, DevOps automation, and cloud governance while collaborating with cross-functional technology teams to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and SaaS/PaaS environments
Administer cloud services including compute, storage, networking, IAM, firewalls, encryption, certificates, serverless technologies, and managed databases
Monitor cloud utilization, performance, availability, and cost optimization initiatives using FinOps best practices
Build and support DevOps pipelines, CI/CD automation, container platforms, Kubernetes, Docker, and API gateway integrations
Implement disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) solutions for cloud environments
Support cloud security operations, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives
Collaborate with development teams to modernize legacy applications and implement cloud-native architectures
Partner with cybersecurity and networking teams on Zero Trust security, hybrid connectivity, VPNs, SD-WAN, Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute solutions
Work closely with database teams to support managed cloud database deployments and optimization efforts
Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, architecture diagrams, and support runbooks
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior IT staff and project teams
Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery activities, cloud governance reviews, vendor evaluations, and infrastructure planning sessions
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience supporting two or more major cloud platforms:
- Microsoft Azure
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
Strong understanding of:
- TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, and hybrid networking
- IAM, cloud security controls, and encryption standards
- CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps methodologies
- Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Cloud governance, compliance, and cybersecurity best practices
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, analytical, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:

- FedRAMP compliance
- Zero Trust Security frameworks
- Agile/Scrum delivery environments
Previous experience supporting enterprise government environments is highly preferred
