Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level BusinessObjects Consultant with strong experience in SAP BusinessObjects upgrades, Crystal Reports migration, Windows Server, and enterprise reporting modernization.

The consultant will support the migration and modernization of an existing SAP BusinessObjects 4.2 / Crystal Reports 2016 environment, including upgrades to BusinessObjects 4.3 and 2025, Crystal Reports 2020, and Windows Server 2022.

Responsibilities

Assess the existing SAP BusinessObjects 4.2 and Crystal Reports 2016 environment, including servers, reports, repositories, universes, security, schedules, databases, integrations, and legacy application dependencies.
Develop and execute a phased migration strategy covering BusinessObjects 4.2 → 4.3 → 2025, Crystal Reports 2016 → 2020, and Windows Server 2022.
Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and secure SAP BusinessObjects environments and supporting components.
Migrate and validate reports, universes, repositories, security, schedules, publications, integrations, and application dependencies.
Identify and resolve compatibility, database connectivity, runtime, formatting, performance, and integration issues.
Validate compatibility across BusinessObjects, Crystal Reports, Windows Server, databases, authentication systems, and third-party components.
Develop and execute testing, UAT, performance, backup/recovery, rollback, and disaster-recovery procedures.
Support production cutover, stabilization, troubleshooting, and legacy environment decommissioning.
Prepare technical documentation covering architecture, migration, configuration, testing, and operational procedures.
Provide knowledge transfer to administrators, developers, and support teams.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of strong SAP BusinessObjects experience, including upgrades from 4.2 to 4.3.
3+ years of Windows Server experience, including migration to Windows Server 2022.
5+ years of experience modernizing systems involving legacy reports, applications, integrations, and dependencies.
3+ years of experience migrating Crystal Reports 2016 to Crystal Reports 2020.
2+ years of experience upgrading SAP BusinessObjects 4.3 to 2025.
Strong experience with enterprise reporting environments, system migration, troubleshooting, testing, and technical documentation.
