Summary Vanguard is seeking an experienced Application Engineer III to join a growing engineering team responsible for developing and supporting cloud-native solutions that power critical business capabilities. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and enhance scalable applications while leveraging modern software engineering practices and AWS cloud technologies.

Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and implement scalable applications and services using modern software engineering practices.
- Build and support cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS technologies and microservices-based architectures.
- Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services while contributing to front-end application development as needed.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, testing, and application architecture decisions.
- Implement automated testing and CI/CD practices to improve quality, reliability, and delivery speed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, integration, and production support issues.
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering processes, application performance, and system reliability.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with technology, security, risk, and operational standards.
Qualifications - Minimum of five years related work experience, with at least one year of development experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience building and supporting full-stack applications in enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with modern front-end technologies such as Angular, React, or similar frameworks.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and system integrations.
- Hands-on experience working with AWS cloud technologies.
- Experience with source control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working within Agile software development environments.
