Summary

Job Title: Java Developer

Location: Hybrid in Chicago, 3x days onsite

Join a dynamic team focused on enhancing application security within Java-based microservices and front-end applications. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate on identifying and implementing code-level fixes for vulnerabilities across multiple repositories, emphasizing reusable solutions and shared patterns.

Key Responsibilities

Review vulnerability findings alongside development leads to analyze root causes and patterns.

Design and implement Java / Spring Boot code fixes that can be applied consistently across multiple repositories.

Develop and update shared libraries and build templates to facilitate centralized remediation.

Write and update unit and integration tests to validate fixes and prevent regressions.

Follow existing coding standards and participate in code reviews prior to merge.

Address vulnerabilities related to authentication, authorization, transport security, secrets handling, input validation, and secure coding practices.

Required Qualifications

Strong Java development experience (5+ years preferred).

Proficiency with Spring Boot and Spring Security frameworks.

Familiarity with secure coding practices and OWASP Top 10 vulnerability classes.

Experience working with shared libraries and multi-repo codebases.

Comfortable with Gradle-based builds and Dockerized service environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience remediating application security findings from SAST tools or penetration tests.

Experience with JWT / OAuth 2.0 implementation patterns in Java.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and security controls within build tooling.
