The Senior Project Manager serves as a visionary, leader, and liaison between Enterprise Agility, Credit Union business units, vendors, and stakeholders to drive organizational strategies to new heights, while working in a highly collaborative, exciting, and fast-paced environment. The Senior Project Manager is also a strategic partner with leadership and stakeholders to align the overall project success metrics to the organizational goals while improving the quality of our member s lives by maintaining a strong, secure, and innovative credit union. Must have Credit Union experience
Projects: Zelle and Secondary debit cards
Background: PMP certified, Banking, credit union, or Fintech background. Treasury and money movement experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist senior management with vendor due diligence, along with identifying and validating the scope of services during the contract negotiation and execution process
- Assist with sizing project level of effort and being familiar with the capacity (work in progress WIP) limits to determine the next project to take in from the pipeline
- Lead and manage moderate to complex, high-visibility, enterprise-level projects concurrently through planning, execution, and delivery to ensure the project is completed on time, within scope and budget ( Complex projects typically require considerable resources across multiple business units and vendors as there are high levels of functional and systems integration.)
- Determine the best methodology and approach, traditional, Agile, or hybrid, to ensure project success and deliver exceptional business value sooner.
- Responsible for team and stakeholder management. Interacts with each area affected by the project and/or deliverables to ensure a smooth transition from implementation to operations
- Ensure a mutual understanding with stakeholders and cross-functional teams by setting expectations with tasks, milestones, and timelines in accordance with the project approach and plan
- Direct and hold internal and external resources accountable at all levels to ensure that proper steps and procedures are executed, tasks completed, and milestones met
- Play a consultative role in placing the appropriate people, processes, and tools to optimize the efficiency of the project team
- Drive project results, deliver a quality end-product, build relationships, and provide updates to Executive Management, Sponsors, and Stakeholders
- Adapt current best practices, procedures and methods or develop new procedures in situations where previously accepted methods have proven inadequate, while keeping in mind the potential impact these changes can have on other departments or functional areas
- Assist with the onboarding, training, and mentoring of new project managers and/or project team members in processes, procedures, and the systems used to manage projects and/or the portfolio
- Utilize technical background to provide highly credible leadership and accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues, and take a creative approach to problem-solving, focusing on details while maintaining the big picture
- Facilitate discussions and workshops to review issues/challenges, identify potential options/resolutions (pros/cons), present recommendations, and record approved decisions using a variety of methods
- Guide the development, review, and approval of the necessary Testing Plans, Communication Plans, Training Plans, Deployment plans, and Support/Transition Plan
- Solve practical problems with a variety of abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor s Degree in an information technology, engineering, or finance-related field (A comparable combination of work experience such as comprehensive knowledge of banking principles and financial products may be substituted for education requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of managing projects with cross-functional systems and application teams
- Ability to exhibit strong project management skills, experience, and capabilities, consulting/supporting large-scale projects and/or strategic initiative
- Proven analytical and critical thinker with the ability to assimilate a variety of data elements and information sources to anticipate upstream and downstream impacts and then make recommendations that drive positive business outcomes
- Ability to work with project stakeholders and remote teams at all levels in the organization in a collaborative, team environment to deliver the highest quality work
- Working knowledge of a Portfolio Project Management (PPM) that uses waterfall and agile framework. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint, MS Project and Visio
- Ability to influence, encourage, and coach project leads and other key stakeholders
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation
- Experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies, tools, and frameworks with enterprise-level application development projects. PMI-ACP, CSM, CSPO, CAL, or equivalent preferred
- Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
- Ability to analyze and resolve difficult and often complex problems or situations
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
- Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures
- Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
