The Pittsburgh office of SmithGroup is looking for a Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to join our team.
Working with us, you will:
- Perform analysis, design and documentation of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing systems, laboratory and process piping and controls under direct supervision.
- Develop solutions to challenging HVAC issues with integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
- Contribute to SmithGroup sustainable design initiatives by using a variety of software to perform energy, heating and cooling load and computational fluid dynamic calculations.
- Perform production for assigned engineering work and document changes to engineering drawings as instructed.
- Assist in construction administration as directed.
- May assist in developing proposal materials.
An ideal candidate has:
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience working (including summer, co-op or intern work) in the AE field.
- LEED AP and Engineer-in-Training certification preferred.
- Knowledge of building code concepts and specifications.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Trane TRACE software, CAD, and the Microsoft Office Suite (with advanced knowledge of Word and Excel).
