Data Center Engineer / Technician (Build-Out & Operations)

Role: Data Center Engineer / Technician (Build-Out & Operations) 

Role Overview:

We are seeking Data Center Engineers / Technicians to support the build-out and ongoing operations of large-scale data center environments. This role will be responsible for hands-on infrastructure deployment, structured cabling, hardware installation, and day-to-day operational support. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Perform rack & stack of servers, network equipment, and related hardware
• Execute and maintain structured cabling (fiber and copper), including routing, labeling, and patching
• Support data center build-out activities, including hardware deployment and installation
• Assist with inventory tracking and asset management of equipment and components
• Perform basic break/fix troubleshooting, including: 
• Hardware swaps and replacements 
• Cable troubleshooting (fiber and copper) 
• Basic network connectivity checks 
• Ensure proper cable management, rack organization, and documentation
• Follow and help establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data center operations
• Work closely with network engineers, site leads, and other infrastructure teams
• Support ongoing maintenance and operational activities as sites go live

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in data center operations, IT infrastructure, or similar hands-on roles.
• Strong experience with: 
• Rack & stack operations 
• Structured cabling (fiber optics and copper) 
• Hardware installation and maintenance 
• Basic understanding of: 
• Data center environments and workflows 
• Networking fundamentals (IP, connectivity, switches – basic level) 
• Ability to read and follow: 
• Rack elevations 
• Cabling diagrams 
• Deployment instructions 
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, build-out or construction environments
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience working in large-scale or hyperscale data centers 
• Familiarity with fiber optics, patch panels, and cable testing tools 
• Exposure to network hardware (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, etc.) 
• Experience with inventory systems or asset tracking tools 
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar (nice to have)

Additional Notes 

• This role is fully on-site and tied to active data center build-out 
• May require physical activity (lifting equipment, working in racks, cabling) 
• Opportunity to grow into more advanced infrastructure or networking roles
